hello fans,
the recent Merchazine couldn’t keep anything for itself, could it? Its content comes straight from the heart of our band and thus it is just as communicative as we are, at least when it comes to pleasant announcements.
Well, it’s the band’s 15-year anniversary this year and its significance includes multiple things, self-rewarding and festivities, which we’ve had planned for quite some time. The joy we feel about what we’ve seen and done so far is what got us – or rather Alex – going, and that includes the vinyl thing, which did cost us a few nerves and has been very time-consuming. That’s basically how it’s been.
The anniversary vinyl edition is released with every studio album so far, and it’s packed with – drum roll please – ALL songs of each particular time.
This means: The records of the “Opposition” anniversary vinyl edition, for instance, include ALL songs of the Xtreme edition, which means that a decent amount of records was required. You’ll see the exact quantity in the product description. In addition to that, the anniversary vinyl editions come with the exact same songs on a CD as well. That way, you don’t have to convert or overwrite. Most of you probably already have the songs anyway, maybe even on their cell phones and computers.
So why make such a fuss about it? It’s simple: we’ve been wanting to have our own collection of Frei.Wild vinyl records for ages! Vinyl records are IN these days, and so are we…haha, just kidding. We just love it and we put all our works that we’ve collected over the years in a shelf and we still enjoy looking at them to this day. A vinyl record is a vinyl record, after all – bigger, classic, perpetual, and simply special. We’ve been asked a lot recently why the first albums hadn’t been available as vinyl records, and we thought: Now is the time, it’s been 15 years, and it’ll be perfect for our anniversary.
Now the last two pieces of information, before you may turn your attention towards something else:
- Obviously, we’re not producing these expensive rarities randomly. We know that vinyl lovers do have this wonderful hobby, but we also know that the quantity will be manageable. It’s not that bad. After all, it’s not a mass product, but rather a gift to those who want it. Us, for example :-) So, down below you’ll find the links to the pre-sale section. If you’re interested, simply pre-order these bad boys. It won’t be possible to purchase any after a certain amount of time.
- We just found something that made us smile. There’s a song that has been saved for a special occasion. We almost forgot about this song, if it weren’t for Andy. Thank you, Andy (Müller) for reminding us. Shame on us!!! The song is called “Nimm mich mit,” and it’s about the yearning for the other side of oneself after you’ve already been walking endlessly. It’s weird that we forgot about it. Thus, “Nimm mich mit” is the very last song of the Opposition session and it’ll be on the Opposition anniversary vinyl edition. Fresh, previously undisclosed, available to anyone from now on.

The band and the crew are quickly approaching THE ultimate Frei.Wild family celebration.
Yes, ladies and gents, we’ve been sold out for months now and we’re going to end the biggest, most wicked, brutest headliner show in 15 years as a band with a specially recorded album, as we first announced about six months ago.
Wuhlheide!!! Come on, we’re awaiting you in anticipation. Friends, you’re even topping the word anticipation by far; we’re fired up! We’re itching, we’re champing at the bit and honestly, we’re a little nervous too, but that’s the way it should be. Long story short: it’s gonna be wicked!
But the main subject in this newsletter is actually
OUR „15 Jahre Deutschrock und SKAndale“ anniversary CD!
EVERYONE who’s coming to and leaving from our concert in Berlin will receive this piece full of pretty unconventional Frei.Wild music for free. The album will show yet another side of Frei.Wild and we’re pretty sure you’ll love it.
So, Friday, July 29, 2016 – the day prior to our Wuhlheide concert. Those who weren’t as lucky to purchase a ticket to our quickly sold-out concert may now at least have the chance of getting this CD. We’re doing everything that we can to make this limited anniversary album available in stores and also online. You can already pre-order this piece from various online retailers. All those who will come to Berlin will get this album for free anyway; logistically it’s gonna be a huge effort, but hey, we’re gonna do that and we will definitely surprise you with awesome works – versatile, stylistically super diverse and based on subjects that we’ve never dedicated ourselves to.
