Frei.Wild is going…

We’re going… to listen to our hearts and this December we’ll be giving the last concerts for the time being.

Dear fans, friends, critics, media and business partners, fellow musicians. No matter when, no matter how and why we’ve met; you accompanied us and we cannot imagine a time without you on this memorable road. No matter if the days were good or bad, if we were the catapult or stood grounded, if side issue or regular feature; it’s safe to say that Frei.Wild has experienced the variations of light and shade.

We cannot emphasize enough: 15 years in a band mean something that is hard to realize and understand for bystanders. People like talking about how they’re at their peak in life and individually reflect the past in their own knowledge. We’re grateful and sometimes we’re also surprised at the same time, but in no way are we bearing any grudges – we’re actually appreciative.

We know what we’ve experienced and we also know that all this was only possible by means of passion, luck, staying grounded, and most of all, your presence and support only. We’re going to stick to this as long as we live. That’s why all of this – like a building – has to be maintained, restored, and in our case, expanded and statically improved. Innovation and qualitative retaking create enhancement and most of all, an even bigger contrast to other bands, which is and has always been what we were focusing on. We don’t want to be somebody else; it’s hard enough as it is to be ourselves!!!

All of you, no matter whether you’re a friend or an enemy, patron or ill-wisher, fan or hater, someone who understands or someone who just turns their head, and all you other musicians or bands…adjusting has never been our thing, so that’s why all of you should listen now:

We’ve always been people that go through life with open eyes. We were never looking for a way to avoid non-conformist things and we kept answering regularly trending questions, even though we were tired of it. And we’d like to remain this band that goes their own way according to their will and feeling. That means not sucking up to anybody, not adjusting, not letting anyone use us, and keep living free and wild, but at the same time avoid opening unnecessary war zones. All this made and makes us. You can hate us or you can love us, we know that, and that’s why you must decide for yourselves; we can handle both. Everything else just wouldn’t feel right in our case.

Our line of approach in the future is certain; everything stays the way it was, and we’re going to be more non-conformist with certain things, yet a lot of things will be different. There are new visions; we’re working on new projects and works, yet one thing we don’t know and don’t want to know, namely what Frei.Wild and our lives will bring in particular. And since nothing in life can be foreseen, we’re at least setting the course in a direction that we like, and everything else will be decided by coincidence, time, or God.

Well then, after several number-one albums, after being awarded gold records and platinum records, after two stylistic adventures, our own record company with successful bands, our own store in our hometown and an incredibly wicked festival called Alpen Flair, we’re left with one major question: Where could and where is this band going from there?

Not once have we felt lethargy, hopelessness or cluelessness, and we never wanted to rest on our laurels or think about the end of our band. Boredom? Never heard of it. There have always been milestones or summits that we wanted to climb and we always knew that there were a lot of baggage and difficulties lying ahead of us in order to achieve that. In every moment of this defining, turbulent, but also always incandescent history we were blessed with inventiveness and creativity amongst our crew and this continually growing ship.

So, what is it that we wrote down on our cards regarding the band’s future?

It’s a big cross, but also kind of written with shaky hands. It stands for two new and two very risky endeavors. We’ll be entering other, new realms, as of yet untouched dimensions, directing towards new horizons.

15 wonderful years, all these tours, and now the unforgettable Wuhlheide show…all that and a thousand other things lie behind us and we? Yup, we’re saying goodbye to our fans for now and retreat, so we can venture on those things. What exactly those two things will be, we don’t want to tell you about this yet, because it’s still not totally planned out yet, and knowing too much kills the tension. For us as well.

After the FWSC concert, the Beachflair and another thing we promised, there’ll be 3 possibilities of seeing us for a last time, for now:

There’ll be three gigantic concerts in Mannheim, Hannover, and Chemnitz…before we’ll be working in the background.

With these 3 shows we’ll be sealing the 15-year epoch and letting the flames of the horns rise higher once again, and together, let’s celebrate the last parties for the time being. We’re counting on you and we know that we’re on the right track!!! We hope that you’re going to follow us!!!
